" Prezi - software for creating and presenting presentations on a so-called virtual canvas, offered among others in the cloud computing model (SaaS), using the Adobe Flash and Adobe AIR platforms. Prezi uses the zoom intermediation (ZUI), which allows users to enlarge and reduce their presentation and to display and move between its individual elements along axes in the space conventionally designated as 2.5D.
Prezi is used as a platform for combining linear and non-linear information and as a tool for both free-form brainstorming and structured presentations. Texts, photos, videos and other types of content are placed on a canvas (2.5D space), with the possibility of grouping them into frames. Authors can then determine the relative size and mutual position of all presentation objects, as well as move and resize them. In the case of linear presentations, predefined navigation paths can be created during the presentation.
Prezi was developed by Hungarian architect Adam Somlai-Fischer as a tool for architectural visualization. Prezi's mission is to "provide a more interesting way to exchange ideas" and to be an intuitive tool for creating and sharing ideas through visual storytelling.
The program is often used as an alternative to the slide-oriented PowerPoint model, with the World Economic Forum currently (2011) using Prezi as part of its media and presentation strategy[1].
