What do we count as a sensor in PRTG? 

Each of the following items counts as one sensor:

• Monitoring traffic/bandwidth on a single device port via SNMP (e.g. switch, firewall, server) using the MIB2 standard
• Monitoring errors/min, unicast, non-unicast packets on one device port via SNMP using MIB2
• Monitoring of other system parameters via SNMP (e.g. CPU, free disk space), which are available via OID value
• Monitoring traffic passing through a single network interface card (NIC) via Packet Sniffing. If you use filtering, each set of filters counts as one sensor.
• Data stream monitoring via xFlow (NetFlow, sFlow). If you use filtering, each set of filters counts as one sensor.
