UserGate Proxy & Firewall Functionality Overview
Security Internet Security - Internet Security
In UserGate, two antivirus engines are integrated. which provide anti-malware protection for all Internet traffic: e-mail, HTTP and FTP. You can decide whether to use one or two (DualVirus). UserGate also provides an effective guard for your network, a professional firewall.
Internet Access Control
With UserGate, you can set up an Internet access policy that will ensure that the Internet is properly used in your company. Integrated services allow you to apply web filters and help direct employee productivity in the right direction by giving you full control over what your employee has access to on the Internet. UserGate also provides an application filtering module that allows you to block applications from accessing user data on the web. User/user statistics allow for a comprehensive report and are available in the program or via the web.
Proxy service
UserGate includes NAT and application-layer proxy , which are the gateway to the Internet. You can share Internet access in your company between multiple employees, use multiple Internet providers, manage network traffic and its efficiency.
Network Management
UserGate includes multiple proxies for protocols such as HTTP, FTP, SOCKS, POP3, SMTP, SIP, and H323. All proxies run in the background, no setup required on client machines. You can also enable/disable proxies for a given protocol.
A proxy server, such as HTTP-proxy, can be enabled by the administrator in UserGate for various reasons, e.g. to speed up access users often use the same resources, or to limit the viewed URL content.
IP telephony support
UserGate supports IP telephony and allows you to work as a gateway for soft phones and dedicated IP phones. IP telephony is the name for Voice over IP (VoIP), a family of technologies that provide voice communication over IP networks. This method has become very popular in recent years. Its biggest advantage is its low cost.
Statistics via WEB
Statistics are available via the Internet through a web browser. Statistics are presented in the form of a www page with an easy user interface, graphs, charts. The amount of information available depends on the user's level of authorization.
Filtering by URL Categories
Misuse of the Internet at work generates negative effects on your company, including: decreased work productivity, excessive bandwidth consumption, Internet worms, Trojans, identity theft, piracy and intellectual property infringement. To minimize/eliminate the problem of misuse by an individual, we strongly recommend the use of web filtering (also known as content filtering) as part of your company's or government's security and defense.
Thanks to our partnership with BrightCloud, we have integrated BrightCloud service with BrightCloud Master database in UserGate. This database contains over 450 million URLs and is divided into 70 categories, such as adult, gaming, games, shopping, travel. Administrators can block access to a selected category for specific users or groups of users.
